Cumbrian Jamie Blamire has retained his place in the England squad as preparations continue for the Rugby World Cup.

The Seaton star is included in a 39-man training squad that will attend a performance centre session at Pennyhill Park.

Newcastle Falcons hooker Blamire has been included in previous training squads by head coach Steve Borthwick, who is yet to finalise his 33-strong squad for the World Cup in France.

The RFU are set to announce the final squad on August 7.

Blamire, 25, has six England caps to his name. Along with the 39 players named, Carlisle-born Borthwick will also welcome Ollie Chessum, Ollie Lawrence, Mako Vunipola, Billy Vunipola and Jack Walker as they continue their rehabilitation.
