Salford City have received a boost ahead of their big clash with Carlisle United this weekend.

They have successfully overturned a red card received by Louie Barry last weekend.

The Aston Villa loan forward will now be able to face the Blues after his suspension was wiped.

Barry was dismissed in the 53rd minute of Salford's 3-2 win at Walsall last weekend.

The Ammies, though, appealed against the decision over an off-the-ball incident.

The Football Association, having reviewed footage, have rescinded the 19-year-old's sending-off on grounds of wrongful dismissal.

Barry had been facing a three-match ban over violent conduct but can now play his part in Salford's last two games.

The sixth-placed side are three points behind fifth-placed United ahead of Saturday's big Brunton Park encounter.
