Carlisle United fans shared their views with the News & Star on Twitter after the goalless draw with promotion rivals Northampton Town. Here is a selection of their comments...

Draw against a good side, second in the league and we're two points off automatic promotion with four games to go. Do I think we'll do it? Probably not. But we've come a long way from where we were a year ago. I'll take a scrap for promotion over a scrap to avoid relegation any day. (@1StevieKilner)

Holy excellent. Gibson and Barclay also up there. However we need to get Gibson back in that midfield three. Teams have been able to swamp our midfield as none of the current three can break the lines and open up the space for Patrick, Moxon etc. Simmo clearly doesn’t rate him but I'd say put Senior back in and move Gibson up. Northampton over the two games the best we’ve played this season for me. Maybe we aren’t quite good enough yet. Rare very good ref too. Shame about the linesmen but you can’t have everything. Our crossing has been woeful in recent weeks. 99 per cent don’t beat the first man. Needs to improve (@parkinsonross)

Tough to beat but nowhere near adventurous enough. Simmo talks about grasping opportunities but we persist with a flat midfield three and two up front who aren't clicking. Gibson or Dev into midfield. Edmondson and Garner/Dennis up top. We need to create and be more attack minded. (@JRBulman)

A strong performance against a good side who carried a lot of attacking threat. Key saves from Holy yet again. We are still right in there, at this stage of the season it’s all about holding our nerve and still being in contention going into the last game or two. Believe! (@mlgraham73)

I'd like us to change formation... 4-3-2-1. We need to get closer to the forwards with more attacking play. We are too slow getting the ball to the forwards, and carry the ball too far, allowing the opposition to get set defensively. We have a great defence. Attackers need help (@adydent67)

We are tough to beat but we can’t expect to go up if we can’t work teams out. Holy two massive saves followed with his ball over the top arguably setting up our best chance. Unpopular opinion - nice to have a half decent ref who tried to let the game flow. Linesman though... (@Invisiblebear84)

Look too nervous to take a chance and go for it, midfield have no creativity at all, when Moxon ticks we tick and he hasn’t been ticking for a while (@CumbrianGeoff)

Gibson behind the front three and Senior back in at right-back for Tuesday. Need a win. Keep the faith. UTB. (@Craggles_33)

Midfield and forwards not connecting, defence sound. Midfield looking tired and jaded, forwards not getting the service. Too many poor passes today. We need to find something extra for the remaing games and a bit of luck would help, but promotion is still within our grasp. (@peterjo91525330)

Very poor offensively, no urgency, no drive to win the game, not sure what the solution is but automatics done now, need to hold on for play-offs (@thegaffa)

Simmo must look at his team selection especially the forward line, go with two wingers and Edmondson through the middle (@GeoffRo39583097)

A familiar feeling. Good football in parts but not able to take the game by the scruff of the neck. You don’t get many chances at promotion and it feels like we are letting ours slip away. Tuesday is win or bust. (@lewisrids3)

Tough game, really close - could have gone either way. Holy MOM for me, some good saves and crucial interventions on edge of box. Still not panicking here…same 11 bar Whelan/Barclay for me Tuesday. (@Jonnyreay)

Too slow to make subs. Not brave enough, far too much just hooking the ball or heading it when they can bring it down. Simmo has to take some of the blame for that. Moxon needs dropping for me too - massively off the boil. (@leerooney)

NTFC played well and made us look ordinary. We were second best in midfield, and lacked creativity in the final third. A good point, given NTFC's quality. Great crowd, lovely sunshine, topped up my tan nicely. Holy Moley, what a goalie! MoM in my opinion. (@AyeCumbrian)

Midfield looks leggy, Moxon and or Guy need rested, maybe too late for it now. Gibbo needs moved back in there. Not sure what’s going on with Patrick. We look too cautious and afraid of doing the wrong thing instead of grabbing the game by the balls and going for it. (@johny_wood)

Automatic is now beyond us I fear. This goalless spell probably a result of a good but not great squad stretched too far plus the injuries of course. Still a massive achievement to be where we are from 12 months ago. We can still go up but it’s probably a case of building for next season (@NotInSeddon)

We didn't get beat (@LEEROTHERHAM)

Looked like two or three other recent games. Two teams at the top wanting the points. Quality at a minimum going forward but decent in defence as usual, Holy dealing with any danger so all the ingredients for a 0-0 draw. We needed the win simple as. Disappointing but still in it (@LindaNi121202)

Great game to come on Tuesday, draw not really any good to either if you’re wanting automatic, it might just suit us a team coming out and having a real go (@keithelliott94)

Tomas Holy has nothing more to prove except if he could score in the last minute of the last game of the ordinary season to put us up automatically or save a penalty for us to win at Wembley (@JHallHDI)
