The manager of Carlisle United's opponents Grimsby Town admitted his players would not get the chance to celebrate their huge FA Cup win as much as they deserve.

The Mariners head to Brunton Park tomorrow - three days after they stunned Southampton to reach the cup quarter-finals.

It is back to league business for Grimsby, who are 16th in League Two as they prepare to take on Paul Simpson's promotion-chasing Blues.

Their cup and league commitments will take Grimsby from one end of England to the other as their memorable night on the south coast is followed by a journey to Cumbria.

Boss Paul Hurst said there was a sense of disbelief after their 2-1 win on Wednesday night - as well as an eye on what comes next.

"They deserve to have maybe more celebrations than what they will get,” he said.

“There’s quite a bit of the group that enjoyed that experience of winning promotion and getting back in the league.

“They did enjoy it in the dressing room. Looking around at a few of their faces, they were in shock, probably very tired as well.

“But there were a few songs and a bit of music. I’m just pleased for them.

“It’s a memory for them, for the owners, for the supporters and we go down in history because of the way we’ve got to the quarter-finals.”

Grimsby will face a trip to Brighton & Hove Albion in the quarter-finals.

United's opponents, although in the bottom half of the table, have picked up seven away wins in the league this season.

They include ex-Blues goalkeeper Max Crocombe.
