Carlisle United fans were understandably delighted after the Blues thrashed Crawley Town 5-2 to go second in League Two.

Here are some of the views they gave us after the game on Twitter.

Great result. We can’t get hung up on one bad result (Mansfield) - as you see today Mansfield get beat 5-2 off a team we beat 4-1. Anyone can beat anyone each week. All we can do is beat who is in front of you and the rest will look after itself. UTB, time for a peeve. (@JasonGarrick4)

You'd imagine this side could dish out a few hammerings with the striking power in the squad, but how encouraging to see the goals coming from all over the pitch. Some real tough games ahead but confidence must be sky high right now. (@BackoSkiddaw)

It’s all about taking chances which we did today. Home form will be key in the run in. We’ve got super Paul Simpson (@spendercufc)

Stunning first half. Flat second, but who cares - it's all about the win. One game at a time. Win each game, each battle. It's cliche corner, but it's that time of the season. COYB (@BruceVander)

With teams around us dropping points all over the place any win would have done but banging in five away from home will always be welcome. Looking good, we are Carlisle United! (@Bjafn_cufc)

Great result, shame about their two goals. Broke my hoodoo with a flurry of goals though to make up for previous games. Second bottom to second, what a 12 months eh! (@mikebcarlisle)

All teams have a fail through the season - it’s how they respond and how the manager reacts. Simpson didn’t go with the same team, he wasn’t scared to change and he did - and the players stood up. A promotion manager and promotion team all day long ….. (@Alistairwest145)

Fantastic, we were ruthless and converted our chances today. No weak links at all and plenty of talent on the bench, what is there not to like, although we switched off twice for Crawley goals. (@peterjo91525330)

Outstanding all over the pitch in the first half. Job done by half time. Bit patchy second half but still enough to be dominant against a poor Crawley team. That skill and cross from Mellish for Senior’s goal - Just wow! (@Snakeeyes7475)

A great attacking performance against a non fungible defence. Is it possible to be in love with 18 people at once? (@mspoons_)

I'm a Denton Holme boy and a Scratching Pen boy, I've lived away from home for 32 years but this side has never made me feel prouder, Simmo has given us back our belief and pride in being from Carlisle and being Cumbrian! (@66_smudge)

Absolutely clinical, our January signings have strengthened the side for the first time in years, this leads to a strong squad performance on the pitch (@matty017)

It’s a great result, Wimbledon was a steady point but this was a must win game if we’re to be serious promotion candidates, well done to Simmo and the lads (@BrendanRogers69)

Great result for Simmo's one-year anniversary (@ShAnEg23)

Quite simply superb (@LEEROTHERHAM)

Life in the fast lane just got a bit faster. Big first half Performance = Big Win. Shame about the two against. Next!! (@LindaNi121202)

Outstanding result. Great anniversary present (@NotInSeddon)

Just heard Moxon’s goal back on @bbccumbriasport. Can’t wait to watch it later. Up the Blues (@paulren1973)

In our household there is only one saying...Simmo IS THE MAN (@MartinCrellin1)

GANNEN UP (@kai_thompson9)
