Carlisle United, having been thrashed at home by Mansfield four days earlier, bounced back with a hard-earned victory over Colchester United on Saturday.

The 1-0 win at Brunton Park - which saw Paul Simpson's League Two promotion-chasers go three points clear in third place - was greeted by a big roar from the 5,550 crowd when the final whistle went.
