The long trip to AFC Wimbledon clearly is not deterring Carlisle United's travelling Blue Army.

The Cumbrians are set to take another bumper away following on their third-longest away trip of the season this Saturday.

United's first game at the Dons' Cherry Red Records Stadium sees a 662-mile round trip for the Blues and their fans.

Yet this morning Carlisle announced they had already sold 712 tickets for the clash in south London.

More are set to be snapped up as Carlisle prepare to take on Johnnie Jackson's mid-table Dons in a bid to bolster their promotion hopes.

It is the first in a series of long away trips, with the Blues facing journeys to Crawley Town, Swindon Town, Gillingham and Leyton Orient in the coming weeks.

United have been backed by some memorable travelling support in recent away games.

Many of those have been among Carlisle's closer fixtures on the map - but the backing shows no sign of abating as the motorway miles now increase.

Their away contingent at such southern fixures will also be bolstered by their supporters' club London Branch.

Tickets are available from the club until 4pm on Thursday. They are priced £25 for adults, £17 for 65+, students and those unemployed/receiving benefits, and £7 for those 17 and under.
