Teenage Carlisle United loan defender Max Kilsby kept up an impressive goalscoring run for in-form Annan Athletic.

The young Blues player scored in a 3-0 win for Peter Murphy’s side over East Fife.

It was a third goal in five appearances for the 19-year-old.

Left-sided Kilsby popped up with a close-range finish in the 85th minute to complete Annan’s emphatic win at Galabank on Saturday.

His late strike - watch below - followed a Chris Johnston double as Peter Murphy’s play-off chasers moved up to third in Scottish League Two.

Kilsby also scored in Annan’s previous outing, a 4-0 win over Bonnyrigg Rose, having got his first senior goal in a 5-1 win over Albion Rovers last month.

Saturday’s outing was a 16th start and 17th appearance in total for the first-year United pro, who recently extended his loan at Annan until the end of the season.

His next chance to impress will come at Bonnyrigg next weekend.

Also north of the border, there was a latest start for Lewis Bell with Gretna 2008 in their Lowland League trip to Tranent.

But it proved a day to forget for Michael McIndoe’s side as they went down to a 4-0 defeat against the league leaders.

Winger Bell, 20, who has been a regular starter, also recently extended his loan at Gretna until the end of the season. They sit 15th in the table after 24 games and host Hearts Under-21s next Saturday.

In Northern Premier League Premier Division, Sam Fishburn got his latest start for Morpeth Town against Radcliffe Borough.

But the 19-year-old Blues striker ended up on the losing side as a second-half Jake Thompson strike earned Radcliffe a 1-0 win at Craik Park.

Fishburn, who was denied with some second-half chances, was substituted in the 84th minute, having come up against former Carlisle players Nicky Adams and Luke Joyce in the Radcliffe side.

Morpeth sit 17th in the table ahead of next weekend’s trip to Ashton United.

Carlisle youth midfielder Dan Hill was also in loan action on Saturday for Cleator Moor Celtic.

He was in the starting line-up as they went down to a 3-0 home defeat to Bacup Borough in North West Counties First Division North.

Cleator Moor sit bottom of the table but have played fewer games than many of the sides in the division.
