CARLISLE United is backing the EFL's new 'Together - Supporting Communities this winter.

The campaign, which has been created by the EFL, will see football league clubs provide community services and matchday offers to help people in challenging economic times and will contribute to the Government's 'Help for Households' initiative.

Several EFL clubs, including Carlisle, have already rolled out a variety of support to those hit hardest.

For example, at Brunton Park, Carlisle United are providing advice through it's Community Sports Trust on the correct use of Smart Meters to disadvantaged families, collecting donations of clothing for Carlisle Key and offering free places on Christmas two-day courses for children who receive free school meals.

EFL chief executive, Trevor Birch expressed the importance of the initiative.

He said: "Providing a warm stadium for a coffee morning, a regular food bank or clothing collections, ‘Together – Supporting Communities’ will offer real tangible help for those people hit hardest by the cost-of-living crisis within our communities.

"While EFL clubs support people all year round, we recognise that now more than ever we should come together and maximise the power of our network to support people who are struggling."
