Carlisle United fans gave us their views on Twitter after the Blues' 2-1 FA Cup second round defeat at Walsall.

Here is a selection.

It honestly hurts losing like that but I feel this could bring the team together more, December has some big games for us and I'm sure we'll come out stronger for this. (@whohammersit44)

Hardly the end of the world. Bit sloppy seeing the game out. Back to the really important stuff. Getting out of League Two (@parkinsonross)

A loss was inevitable. Our second half performance wasn’t good enough, far too defensive and let them come at us far too much. The officiating wasn’t the greatest either. (@what_sonny_saw)

Well that was weird. Did nothing wrong for almost 90 minutes, then a Holy howler and a Mellish slip. Followed by White and Earing causing a mad pitch melee after the whistle. We weren't brilliant - Armer had an off day and they bullied us off the ball - but we should have won (@JHallHDI)

Was at the game. Great decision by Simmo in first half to move Mellish into midfield but soon after we scored moved him back for a five-man defence. Can understand why but not happy as a fan as we were better than them when he was in the middle. Disagree with Simmo that we 'dominated' @AndyAttwood1)

Gutted, and now fully expect ball 63 to be at home to Man City after Rochdale and Shrewsbury were rewarded with Man U and Liverpool in recent years! (@mancumbrianmike)

Really poor performance after taking the lead. First time I’ve said this, and we’re lucky to have him, but Simmo needs to look in the mirror on this one, going back to five at the back as soon as we scored. (@stewelsh)

Second half not good enough. Need midfield reinforcements in the January window ASAP (@MartinCrellin1)

We got too deep second half and the inevitable happened, ref poor all game, it’s cost us a lot of money (@keithelliott94)

Seen a lot of negativity. Yeah, the manner of the loss hard to take but we’ve been on the other end of late turnarounds, that’s football. A keeper making mistakes stands out but Holy has been very decent. Short memories from a few fans. Especially after last week. Back to the league (@AdWhitfield94)

Nobody likes being done at the death.......all I have to say. (@LindaNi121202)

A sad end, but what it is. This should not define what a decent start to the season it has been. A distraction now gone. Not all bad - onwards we go. (@StevenH70004730)
