Carlisle United fans were highly impressed with the Blues' showing in their 4-1 victory over Salford City when they gave us their views on Twitter.

Here is a selection:

What Carlisle have shown is that they are resilient, up for the fight, and have quality to overcome any opposition in this division. Simmo has a great squad and if they can stay healthy (fingers crossed) could end the season as champions. (@BruceVander)

Very charismatic performance. Two early injuries and 1-1 early second half with Salford on top. We didn’t fold, we improved!! Must admit Moxon looks better every time I watch him. Up the Blues. (@JasonGarrick4)

First half could have been better but a very good defensive display and disappointing for them to score, but that was the best moment of the game because of how it got us going (@JohnRoutledge11)

Lost a bit of the momentum with the first half injuries but once Guy’s goal hit the net only one winner. Unbelievable from Ellis again. Not easy to come on when you aren’t expecting it against two good players. Just doesn’t look like a kid with 10-odd appearances. (@parkinsonross)

Salford just didn't know what to do with Mellish when he went into midfield. Really hard game to pick a MOTM from, everyone was superb. (@cufcmike)

Losing two players in the first half obviously set them back a bit. But with great depth from the squad and lads who want to win for the badge, we played awesome. #COYB #eieieio #upthefootballleaguewego (@Playbytherulz)

Keep calm, carry on (@hatkinson5527)

When they equalised our heads could’ve easily dropped but instead we went back on the front foot chasing every second ball, pressing and eventually overloaded them. The away end was unreal. (@benchxmbo)

With a fit (ish) squad the play-offs at the very least are there, I fear though injuries will cost us. (@FeelingHoly)

An outstanding away performance. Soaked up pressure at times, without them really hurting us with their possession. Players showed a real desire to change the direction of the game when they equalised. The last 30 minutes were as good as we have been all season. Moxon MOTM. (@BenJoseph0157)

Just an unbelievable atmosphere from start to finish, particularly when they equalised, the fans would not let the players' heads drop and the lads went on to deliver, massively, great day, thanks boys! (@mancumbrianmike)

What makes me excited is, having watched recent United teams fold when they lost a goal or a key player injured, I’m now watching one that never gives up and where they keep playing to the last whistle for each other and us fans. Yes, praise Simmo, but also praise that squad! (@JHallHDI)

I've been suffering full of cold feeling down. What a tonic that proved to be - superb. 3,400, of which United had 1,400 fans. MOTM everybody and fans. When was last time we had goal difference of +10? C'mon you Blues = think it's a bottle of red tonight. Cheers (@ericgreen866)

The old adage of goals change games held true. However, the effect of Salford's equaliser was to galvanise the Cumbrians and they slowly took control until they became dominant. Fantastic win! (@CowellLes1975)

We are now witnessing what can happen with proper coaching, belief and a never say die attitude. These lads are going from strength to strength in all departments. Great result! (@LindaNi121202)

Comprehensive victory. When Salford equalised we found another gear and battered them. (@Bjafn_cufc)

I enjoyed that (@keithelliott94)

Great result despite not being very fluent until Salford equalised. We stepped up a gear after that and looked like scoring every time we came forward. Fantastic goal from Guy at a crucial time and Salford folded to our spirit and persistence. Everyone contributed to the win (@tim_martland)

Absolutely class! (@henryrich50)
