Former Carlisle United and Bolton Wanderers man says Australia switch has been "good change"

The forward, who had a disappointing spell at Brunton Park last season, is preparing for a second campaign with Adelaide United.

Clough recently signed a two-year extension with the South Australia outfit ahead of the new A-League season.

It came after he moved Down Under in January, bringing to an end an underwhelming half-season in Cumbria.

Former Bolton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest star Clough, speaking to 10 News First Adelaide, suggested the different style of play in the Australian league is to his liking.

The 27-year-old said: "Coming in the middle of the season when it was summer here was tough, and I had a few injuries, but I feel like after pre-season I feel excited about staying.

"It's a good league, I've made some good friends here and it's a great team to be a part of.

"It's more tactical here. In England it's a lot more [about] how quick the teams are.

"It's been a good change for me and I'm really enjoying it."

Clough made 23 appearances and scored three goals for the Cumbrians last term.
