The appointment follows Bentley's arrival as Robbie Stockdale's replacement at the Spotland helm.

Former Everton striker Chadwick's career included a spell at Barrow from 2010-11.

His other clubs included Plymouth Argyle, Shrewsbury Town and Stockport County.

His coaching career, meanwhile, included time with Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic, before assisting Bentley at AFC Fylde.

“We’ve known each other a long time, professionally and personally. We enjoy each other’s company and I’m thankful he’s brought me to the club," Chadwick told Rochdale's website.
