Former Carlisle United star Brad Potts provided a goal of the season contender in his latest Championship outing.

The ex-Blues player cracked home a brilliant volley to hand Preston North End a 1-0 win at Luton Town.

Potts' acrobatics came in the 18th minute at Kenilworth Road - leaving observers drooling at his technique.

Former United man Joe Thompson was among those impressed with the 28-year-old's finish...

It was Potts' second goal of the season. His manager Ryan Lowe said: “Potts has got fantastic goalscoring attributes, I think he’s had that all his career, but in a different role.

“I’m pleased with one wing-back crossing to the opposite wing-back and finding a goal, that’s how we work, we want them in the box.

“If he continues to keep scoring goals like that...I expect the wing-backs to get between five and 10 goals anyway, and he’s off the mark with two."

Hexham-born Potts came through the youth set-up at Carlisle and made 118 first-team appearances, scoring ten goals before joining Blackpool in 2015.

After two years at Bloomfield Road, he had a season-and-a-half with Barnsley before moving to Preston in January 2019.
