He is the young striker who will shoulder some of the goals burden for Carlisle United next season.

So what can the Blues expect from Ryan Edmondson?

The big frontman, who joined Paul Simpson's squad on a permanent deal from Leeds United last week, has until now cut his first-team teeth with loan moves.

Here's a look at the 21-year-old's goals for Aberdeen, Northampton Town, Fleetwood Town and Port Vale...

ABERDEEN

The first half of the 2020/21 campaign saw Edmondson head to Pittodrie, where his first two senior goals came in a 4-2 win against Hamilton: a tidy finish from near the penalty spot after some good movement, followed by a sharp piece of anticipation and well-judged finish...

NORTHAMPTON TOWN

First up for Edmondson was this very close-range finish for the Cobblers against Portsmouth in League One - the young striker showing determination to convert a cross from ex-Blue Jack Sowerby...

His second goal was this bit of fox-in-the-box opportunism in a comeback draw at Gillingham...

FLEETWOOD TOWN

Edmondson's half-season spell on the Fylde coast in the first half of last season brought two goals in the Papa John's Trophy. Firstly there was this clinical header against Leicester's Under-21s...

Then came a goal in Cumbria - against Barrow, where Edmondson beat defender and keeper to the bounce to help Fleetwood to a 3-1 win.

PORT VALE

Edmondson then headed into League Two for the second half of the campaign with promotion-chasing Port Vale. He started with this less-than-orthodox close-range finish against champions-elect Forest Green Rovers...

He later scored in consecutive games - first this well-taken six-yard slot against Stevenage.

And finally Edmondson grabbed a point for the Valiants when he rose highest to head home a cross against Harrogate - the sort of aerial prowess Paul Simpson will now hope to see in a Carlisle shirt.
