Carlisle United fans could not contain their anger after the dismal 3-0 defeat to Swindon Town.

The Blues faithful gave us their reaction on Twitter after Keith Millen's team slid into the League Two relegation zone.

Here is a selection of their comments.

Bad players, bad manager, bad owners. The last few years of the club wearing the low budget and constant cost cutting as a badge of honour has now finally given them the club they deserve (@RyanWood85)

I don’t know how it gets better. Millen’s tactical understanding seems completely defunct. We were battered all over the pitch, Swindon made the pitch massive and passed it meaningfully. Mellish chased shadows, Toby Slow didn’t win a single header. Just very very bad. Real bad (@mspoonz)

The board have to take the blame. The club’s demise has been due entirely to their inaction at encouraging new investment and ownership. Their reticence to hand over the reins, to step away, is seen in their ever dwindling budget for players. We are in a tailspin to non-league (@BruceVander)

Time for Holdsworth and Millen to go. Only chance this club has of staying up, and even then it’s a small chance given the lack of quality throughout the squad. If the board don’t act now, relegation is all but confirmed, and it’ll be a long time before we’re back in the EFL (@cufcdeano)

Hopeless again, it makes an even bigger mockery of the DOF's recent comments, it’s becoming embarrassing (@keithelliott94)

Worried! Millen initially shored up the defence then brought forwards in January as we asked, injuries/low confidence/others picking up points, feel we need wins/luck in the big games coming up… (@mancumbrianmike)

Absolutely diabolical, performance was shocking. That was the game that’s sent us down. Now more than ever we need to sack Millen whilst there’s a glimmer of a chance (@djtooley247)

For about the sixth game in a row we look like we’re playing against 12 men. Every time teams go forward against us they look like they can score but we seem to have no options. Millen has to go I’m afraid. Nice man, poor manager (@leecrowe007)

Dreadful and predictable. The club is dying. We are heading to National League North unless something changes massively. I cannot see it. No fight, no heart, not enough quality. Need owners with money and passion (@MartinScarboro4)

That was utter rubbish. Not one positive to take from it. Where is the fight? (@RonnieSmith1964)

The midfield is woeful. No passion, no fight it’s worse than I’ve seen in a long time and I watched Ian Atkins teams. KM has given us no new manager bounce it’s clear he can’t get us out of trouble, we need to move on from him and Holdsworth or else it’s non-league again (@scottieh84)

Becoming seriously disillusioned with watching this every week. We’re walking into non-league oblivion, all fans now this but I’m not convinced the CUFC hierarchy think the same. No fight or passion is not acceptable (@doswell_lee)

A disaster years in the making. Oblivion beckons (@havenmarra)

We’ve seen most teams around us realise things aren’t going right and change things asap, do it now before it’s too late (@BrendanRogers69)

The board are cemented in place by the debt and their personal guarantees. The squad is what it is. The only two things that can be changed are the management pair and Holdsworth. Bin the lot now and use the three wages to bring in a wise pair of eyes in the manager role. How could it make us worse? (@griffsback)

It's simple! It's not working, it's not worked all season - the league table doesn't lie. We can't score goals, we can't defend, it's a recipe for disaster. We need a spark to turn it around and we need it fast!! (@cumbrianbluess)

Can't say anything without swearing except WE ARE GOING DOWN (@ericgreen866)

Millen probably has to go. Given he’a not really been able to get a full side out since the end of Jan, it feels a little harsh but this has National League written all over it at the minute (@HYFPRW)

The lack of fight is the most alarming thing. Compare with Oldham who are showing promotion form: one team has the hunger to stay up, the other has already given up (@mtuj1974)

This team is so devoid of character. Compare some of this team with 03-04; Gray, Cowan, Murphy, Preece, Billy, I could go on. Look at those names compared to what we have now. Fans were queuing round the block for Barrow tickets after the game, we deserve so much more (@Matt_Suddart)

Time for major change. DOF and manager must go immediately. Still time to recover but that will not happen with this lack of leadership (@NotInSeddon)

Holdsworth and Millen should be sacked tonight. Go and get [Derek] Adams in. Still might not be enough (@parkinsonross)

Clueless, hopeless, rudderless, doomed (@JRBulman)

Totally and utterly clueless, no passion, no fight heads went down as soon as McKirdy scored and never came up again. If the DoF was brought him for his football knowledge...and this is the outcome. God help us (@tracy_sturgess)
