Carlisle United saw off FC Halifax Town last night with a 3-0 win in their final pre-season friendly at Brunton Park.

Blues fans who watched the game used Twitter to give us their views on the performance - and on how they feel the squad is shaping up.

Game of the proverbial two halves. Always optimistic the first week in August...well you have to be don't you? @LindaNi121202)

Some good attacking moves, but I do worry that some lessons haven’t been learned from last year from a defensive point of view - it is quite easy to play through the team’s press at times… (@geegraeme01)

Bit of a non-event tbh. Needed a stiffer test than they could provide. Reasonably optimistic but still think we need another CB, cover at LB and a target man. (@parkinsonross)

First half a revelation, second half a devastation! Zach Clough ran his heart out as did Callum Guy. Toure has really worked on his fitness as well as Mellish. No shape second half. Well done to Halifax for keeping us at bay for 74 minutes. Unlucky with OG. (@richards_avril)

Be a real test on Saturday, not sure about the defence. (@rocknrolo)

Still think we’re a bit weak at the back, Whelan looked good, just Hayden gets caught out of position far too often and likes to commit when he should just jockey. Going forward think Mampala gives us more than Abrahams, and Clough looks different level (@bazovcarlisle)

Might as well give us the title now… (@leecrowe007)

Need a CB and striker (@mussoned)
