BARNSTORMING prop Stevie Scholey will be setting the Derwent Park terraces alight for longer - after agreeing a new deal.
Scholey has agreed an extension to his contract to keep him in Workington Town colours until the end of the 2024 season.
He had previously signed a three-year deal until the end of 2021.
Head coach Chris Thorman says Scholey is a respected figure within the side and is delighted he is staying on.
He said: “We’re really pleased to have Stevie around the place for the next four years. He’s been nothing but a model of consistency in my time at the club.
“He’s improved significantly in the last 18 months and will continue to do so in the future. He’s also grown as a leader within the club, who is respected on and off the pitch.”
Former Maryport amateur Scholey turned professional in 2015 after impressing the club in pre-season. The former BARLA Great Britain International has now clocked over 100 appearances for Town.
