It was a momentous night at Brunton Park as 2,000 Carlisle United fans returned to the ground - the first Football League crowd under the new Covid-19 Tier system.

And those Blues supporters were rewarded with a good performance and a 2-1 victory as Chris Beech's side got the better of Salford City.

Here's what some of United's faithful made of the experience on and off the pitch, rating the display of Beech's players and how it felt to be back at the stadium.

"Well organised on and off the field, always nice to beat these sort of sides, plenty of atmosphere too" (@keithelliott94)

"Great performance by Blues, what a goal by Alessandra, + Bennett + Hayden brill partnership, shame that blooming ref Salisbury was there terrible ref. Lovely to see 2000 back in ground" (@ericgreen866)

"Great to be back there was a buzz in Brunton Park tonight! All the lads played brilliantly tonight excellent win" (@laurabarr38)

"Well organised both on and off the pitch. Felt great to be back standing in the Paddock giving a warm welcome to the away team. Alessandra's goal was class and great to see Bennett on the score sheet again. Left BP buzzing after watching the match and the result." (@tracy_sturgess)

"No problems on and off the pitch!! Well done to the club, the organisation was superb!! Got a very good team on our hands here with a bit more to come I think, need Bennett signed up sharpish until the end of the season + Tanner = Class act as ever. Great night." (@reaypa)

"All good stuff, Well organized by cufc. Plus a very good match good atmosphere." (@alantorchwood)

"On - we've a great bunch of players & we need to keep them together if promotion is a serious priority. Off - once in position in the paddock it just felt like any other match I've been to at BP. Good to get back to normality #UTB" (@JCSlack1)

"It was incredibly handled by the club and stewards. I take my hat off to the people who made this possible. And as for on the pitch, what a display from the boys and an excellent 3 points. COYB" (@CufcThe)

"CUFC started really well. They pushed extremely hard and had Salford on the ropes. Alessandra’s goal was a masterpiece. Pleased for Bennett, bit of a scramble. George Tanner was MOTM without doubt. GK’s kicking is brilliant. A left sided wingback would have provided more overlap" (@richards_avril)
