Carlisle United chief executive Nigel Clibbens hopes fans will continue to back the club's streaming service – and break the 1,000-stream mark for today's trip to Exeter City.

Speaking to United's official website, Clibbens offered an update on how the service has been received by supporters, with fans still unable to attend games at Brunton Park or any of the Blues' League Two rivals.

The club has had a total of 6,844 paid streams so far – an average of 760 per game over their first nine league fixtures – which has generated income of about £50,000.

There are also 300 season ticket holders on top of that who are choosing to stream the games via iFollow instead of asking for a refund.

Clibbens said: "I think the fans are really enjoying the football they are seeing.

"It’s still very early in the season, but the feedback we are getting is that you are excited to see the team and players developing and, of course, to be able to watch them win!

"In terms of subscribers, the numbers of paid streams is consistently growing with every game, which is great to see."

The United chief also appealed to fans to avoid 'pirate' streams which do not generate cash for the club.

"A big thank you to everyone, and let’s see if we can break the 1,000-stream mark, for the first time, for the Exeter game," he added.
