Blues fans have a chance to measure United’s recent improvement when we entertain top-of-the-table Swindon at Brunton Park on Saturday.

It is match we might have feared a few weeks ago but not now. The Blues’ four-game unbeaten run means we should be full of confidence.

Fans will be hoping Hallam Hope, having moved to Swindon in January, doesn’t return to haunt us. But the Robins also have two of the division’s top strikers in Eoin Doyle (24 goals) and ex-Blues loanee Jerry Yates (12).

United have been revitalised by eight new signings during the transfer window, and it will be a chance to see some of them in action for the first time. Joshua Kayode, on loan from Rotherham, has scored two in two games and is exciting the fans while there may also be an opportunity for another young striker, Omari Patrick, who joined the Blues on deadline day from Bradford.

With Swindon likely to bring a good following it could attract one of our best attendances of the season and promises to be a cracking game. CUOSC will be holding our usual supporters’ surgery before the match in the study centre, next to the club shop, between 1.30 and 2.30pm.

It is a chance to ask questions or sign up for membership. It costs £10 for adults and £5 for under-16 and seniors. We can also be contacted by email at info@cuosc.org.uk

CUOSC vice chairman Nigel Davidson has been accepted on to the national Fans for Diversity Guidance Group. It is run jointly by the Football Supporters' Association and Kick It Out with the aim of promoting diversity and inclusion across the professional and non-league game.

The group is looking to grow the game in minority areas such as different religions and LGBGT but want fans of all clubs regardless of age, disability, gender, race, faith or sexual orientation to feel safe and welcome attending matches.

Nigel said: “‘The Fans for Diversity Guidance Group is a great initiative and I am honoured to be a part of it.

“The FFDGG has done some great work so far and we are looking to expand that this year with a range of new initiatives, guidance and events.

"I will be working with the club on an event, which we hope to get off the ground by the end of the season, so watch this space.”
