Frank Fielding has hailed Cumbrian Dean Henderson as “an outstanding young goalkeeper” after he earned his first-ever call-up into England’s senior squad.
Whitehaven-born Henderson, on loan at Sheffield United from Manchester United, who started his career at Carlisle United, has linked-up with Gareth Southgate’s squad ahead of their Euro 2020 qualifiers away to Czech Republic tomorrow and Bulgaria on Monday.
“It’s a great opportunity for him [Henderson], he’s an outstanding young goalkeeper,” Millwall keeper Fielding told Love Sport Radio.
“If I’m honest, I didn’t know how he was going to find the Premier League this season.”
“He’s absolutely flying and he deserves his call-up,” Fielding, 31, added.
