Anthony Gerrard says he will always look back on his time at Carlisle United fondly as he prepares for a new start with Chesterfield.
The centre-half, who spent last season at Brunton Park, has been reunited with former Blues boss John Sheridan at the Proact Stadium.
Gerrard has agreed a two-year deal with the National League club after being released by Pressley's Cumbrians successor Steven Pressley at the end of last season.
The 33-year-old said: "At Carlisle they took me in with open arms. I loved every single minute up there.
"The fans were fantastic, it was just unfortunate we missed out on the play-offs.
"Now it's a different challenge, a different set of goals."
Gerrard made 44 appearances for the Cumbrians in 2018/19.
Since his departure, along with other defenders, Pressley has brought in centre-halves Jon Mellish and Byron Webster.
