Workington Town will be looking to build momentum after progressing in the 1895 Cup when they travel to Coventry Bears in League 1 this afternoon (3pm kick-off).

Town's 31-28 win at Hunslet gave Chris Thorman victory in his first game in charge and he will now hope to carry that into his first league game as the club's new head coach.

Vice-captain Jamie Doran enjoyed that win and hopes they can capitalise on it to get their season moving in the right direction and drag the team up the table.

He said: "That was a good win for us and we want to build on it.

"I think we need to start kicking on now and it's kind of a fresh start for us with our new coach coming in.

"On paper I would say we've got one of the best teams in the league with a few other teams involved.

"It's just about consistency.

"Chris Thorman has been talking about getting back to the basics to make sure we grind out the results like we were doing at the start of the season.

"That will build up the confidence and it goes on from there."

Town made a strong start to the league campaign, winning three of their first four games before form dipped with a three-game losing streak.

The Bears also started the season hot and won their first two games but have followed that up with four straight defeats so both sides will be looking to get their league form back on track.
