Mark Cullen is back on the training ground and could return to full training at Carlisle United in two weeks, manager Steven Pressley said.
The Blackpool loan striker has missed the last four games with a groin injury.
It has left the 26-year-old racing against time to rejoin the Blues’ play-off push but he could figure before the end of the season.
Pressley said: “He’s back on the grass in terms of jogging, although he hasn’t participated with the training. He’s very much straight line running.
“Probably we’d hope in another couple of weeks he’ll return to full training. Then we’ll have to get him up to speed.”
Defender Macaulay Gillesphey is “training well”, the United manager added, but needs “more intensive training” before being considered for selection.
Captain Danny Grainger (hamstring) is set to miss this weekend’s game against Bury but should return to training next week.
