Manager John Sheridan expects League Two leaders MK Dons to attack his Carlisle United side from the off.

Paul Tisdale's team are two points clear at the summit, albeit having played one league fixture more than second-placed Lincoln.

United manager Sheridan acknowledges his side are in for a stiff test this afternoon (3pm kick-off), but sees no reason why they can't get a result as they look to close the four-point gap between themselves and the play-off places.

He said: "They’re a good footballing side, we have watched them.

"They play a 3-4-3 formation, so they’re very attack-minded. But they are top of the league for a reason.

"Obviously, they are playing with confidence, but I think we can go there with a positive attitude of trying to win the game. Our away record is very good, so we will try to keep that going.

"MK Dons are one of the fancied teams. I like Paul and get on well with Paul.

"But we are a good team, and we play football. We should have more points but we know the reasons why [we don’t]."
