Carlisle United playmaker Jamie Devitt has been nominated for the player of the month award for November.

Devitt was in good form for the Blues last month as he scored five goals in five appearances in all competitions.

Citing their decision to nominate the 28-year-old, the EFL panel said: “Brought in from the wing for the first time in his career, Devitt has adapted superbly, pulling Carlisle’s attacking strings.

“Always dangerous from free-kicks, he is now in position to shoot more.”

Also nominated alongside Devitt in the League Two category are MK Dons’ Dean Lewington, Jay O’Shea, of Bury, and Colchester’s Sammie Szmodics.

MK Dons’ Paul Tisdale, Bury’s Ryan Lowe, Dave Flitcroft, of Mansfield, and Cheltenham’s Michael Duff are up for League Two’s manager of the month gong.

Devitt joined United in the summer of 2016 from League Two rivals Morecambe, although he did miss Saturday’s 2-0 FA Cup loss at Lincoln due to a calf injury.

The winner will be announced at 6am this Friday.
