A block of flats had to be evacuated after a late night fire in Carlisle.
Firefighters said a chip pan caused the blaze at South Henry Street, off Botchergate.
Smoke alarms alerted residents to the fire, which happened at about 11.30pm.
The Carlisle West and Carlisle east fire crews both rushed to the scene.
The property had been evacuated by the time they arrived.
Firefighters wearing special breathing equipment used two hose reels to put out the fire and stop it from spreading.
Nobody was hurt.
