It has been smiles all round at a Carlisle children's nursery that has been celebrating its 30th anniversary.
Children at Little Jems Nursery enjoyed a visit from entertainer Silly Gilly and exotic animals from Zoolabs as well as tucked into a teddy bear's picnic. Around 100 people also attended an open afternoon.
Owner Anne-Marie Taylor is also celebrating her own 30 years at the Woodrouffe Terrace nursery, having been taking on as a trainee just 11 days after it opened back in 1988.
She took over 10 years ago when founder Jan Jeffrey retired.
Anne-Marie said: "Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the week. It was lovely to see so many former parents and families at the open event too. A lot of the staff here have been with us a long time and parents like that. In fact, five of us went out together recently because between us we have 100 years service."
