A NEW event is aiming to raise funds for a Cumbrian animal charity this September.
Oak Tree Animal Charity's first-ever Colour Run will take place at Carlisle Racecourse on Sunday, September 20, from 10 am to 4 pm.
Organisers hope the 5k event, which involves participants being showered with coloured powder as they make their way around the course, will become an annual fundraiser.
A spokesperson for the event said: "The Colour Run is a fun and exciting 5k event for people of all ages and abilities.
"Whether you choose to run, walk, or cheer from the sidelines, the Colour Run promises to be a fantastic day of fun for the whole community while supporting a great cause."

Funds raised will support the work of Oak Tree Animals' Charity, which helps animals in need and has rehomed more than 200 animals so far this year.
The event will also feature stalls offering refreshments, gifts and local products, as well as family-friendly activities and entertainment.
Organisers have secured support from several sponsors, including Cumbrian Properties, InvestAcc Pension Administration, Pioneer Foodservice, Cubby Group, Cumbria Waste Group, Aqua Pura, Frame & Swift, and Mercedes-Benz of Carlisle.
Tickets are priced at £20 for adults and £10 for under-15s.
Family tickets for two adults and two children cost £50, while group tickets for four adults are £60.
Trade and craft stall pitches are available for £15, with tables provided.
