TWO people are in custody after a police chase ended near Carlisle.

The incident began on Friday, September 4, when a vehicle failed to stop for officers and led to a pursuit in the Crosby On Eden area.

A spokesperson from Carlisle Police said: "Officers from your Neighbourhood Policing Team, Firearms Support Unit and Carlisle Response came together tonight when a vehicle failed to stop for officers in the city, following a pursuit in the area of Crosby On Eden, the occasional discarded drugs from the vehicle and a decamp into open ground teams deployed on foot and via drone to locate the driver in boggy ground having lost his crocs.

"Further evidence that if you choose to use our roads as your own personal racetrack, you will be caught, you will be arrested and you will face a courtroom in due course."

Two people are in custody for dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and drugs driving.
