M.W. Craven to appear at Carlisle Library in September

M.W. Craven, one of the UK’s most popular crime writers, will appear at Carlisle Library on Monday, September 14, at 6pm to launch his latest novel The Killer’s Mark.

The event will give fans an opportunity to hear Mr Craven discuss the inspiration behind his work and the newest instalment in his Poe and Tilly detective series.

Anne Quilter, executive member for vibrant and healthy places at Cumberland Council, said: "We are delighted to welcome Mike back to Carlisle Library to celebrate the launch of his latest book.

"As Cumberland Libraries Ambassador, Mike has been a fantastic advocate for reading and libraries across our communities.

"This event is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our newly refurbished library while giving residents the chance to meet a bestselling local author.

"Whether you're a long-time fan of the Poe and Tilly series or discovering Mike's work for the first time, it's sure to be an engaging and memorable evening."

The event will take place in the newly refurbished Carlisle Library, which recently reopened after a major refurbishment.

The modernised space now offers a welcoming environment for reading, learning, creativity and community connection.

Attendees will also have the chance to have their copy of The Killer’s Mark signed by Mr Craven.

M.W. Craven has developed a loyal following through his internationally acclaimed Poe and Tilly novels, which are inspired by locations across Carlisle and Cumbria.

The Killer’s Mark is the latest entry in the series.

With high demand expected, early booking is recommended.

There will be no parking available in The Lanes Car Park on the evening of the event.

Visitors are advised to use alternative city centre parking options and allow extra time for their journey.
