Brampton Medical Practice has changed the way it sends appointment reminder texts after some patients received notifications for appointments they had already cancelled.
The surgery previously sent reminders three days before an appointment and again the day before it was due to take place.
However, it said it had experienced issues with reminder messages being sent after patients had cancelled, causing confusion.
Patients will now receive just one reminder text, sent the day before their appointment.
The practice said patients will still be able to cancel appointments at any time.
It also said it can send text messages confirming appointment details for patients who have arranged an appointment by telephone.
A post from Brampton Medical Practice said: “We hope this will prevent any confusion.”
