EIGHTY per cent of parents and carers say they don't have enough time to teach their children how to cook, according to a recent poll.
Now, families in Carlisle and Eden will have a new opportunity to get children cooking, as award-winning children's cookery school Cook Stars launches local classes for ages 2–17.
Claire Hewitt, who is bringing Cook Stars to the area, said: "Parents understand the value of cooking, but finding the time to teach it can be challenging.
"Our classes give children the chance to develop confidence in the kitchen, learn practical skills and discover that cooking can be fun."
Classes, which begin in September, are available for Cook Stars Minis (2–5yrs), Cook Stars Juniors (5–11yrs), and Cook Stars Academy (11–17yrs).
In Carlisle, the classes will be held at the Harraby Community Centre. A location for the Eden area has yet to be confirmed.
