Plans have been submitted for The Box Padel Club, which would bring the rapidly growing sport of padel to the town.
Mark Aston, owner of national branding firm Ast Signs, is leading the proposal for Gilwilly Industrial Estate.
His plans include three padel courts, two pickleball courts, a clubhouse, a 5,400 sq ft fitness space, a 4,800 sq ft industrial unit and four public EV charging points.
Mr Aston said: "The Box Padel Club has been a long time in the making, so it's exciting to finally submit our plans."
Free time on the padel courts will be offered to local schools and charities.
It is designed as a social and wellbeing hub, with space for early morning matches, coaching sessions, coffee with colleagues, or post-training meals with friends.
The project is expected to open in spring or summer 2027, subject to planning approval.
