From rising indie stars to homegrown talent, there’s plenty to discover at this year’s Kendal Calling.
The festival (from July 30 to August 2), at Lowther Deer Park, will be headlined by Two Door Cinema Club, Biffy Clyro and Wolf Alice.
But we thought we’d dig a little deeper into the line-up to tell you who else should be on your festival agenda.
Barrow’s very own The Silver Bars
If you’re looking for one of Barrow’s own in the line-up then step no further.
The Silver Bars will open the main stage at Kendal Calling 2026 on Friday (July 31). They told BBC Introducing they were shocked when they first received the email offer.
Talking about Kendal Calling, Dylan Grafton said: “If you're from Cumbria, Kendal Calling's generally the first festival you go to when you're a teenager.”
He added: “So to get on the main stage… it still hasn't sunk in and I don't think it'll sink in until probably afterwards.
The five-piece indie band is made up of Grafton, Phil McArthur on keyboard and synths, Matthew Grosvenor on drums, Elliott Jones on bass, and Kieran Hackett on lead guitar.
Black Honey
Brighton’s Black Honey take to the main stage on Friday.
The four-piece is known for its energetic blend of indie rock, pop-grunge, and cinematic surf-rock, all anchored by the powerful vocals of frontwoman Izzy Baxter Phillips.
Gritty guitar riffs and catchy hooks give a nostalgic nod to 1990s rock and retro pop.
The band is also made up of guitarist Chris Ostler, bassist Tommy Taylor, and drummer Alex Woodward.
Black Honey are playing at 2pm and will be setting the tone for an action-packed start to the weekend.
The Lancashire Hotpots
This comedy folk band will certainly have you cackling away in the Cumbrian countryside.
Formed in 2006, The Lancashire Hotpots have a particular focus on their home county and British everyday life.
Get ready for hits such as He’s Turned Emo, Chippy Tea and eBay Eck this weekend.
Light-hearted lyrics and infectious energy make them the perfect soundtrack for a Sunday afternoon in the Cumbrian countryside.
The Lancashire Hotpots are playing on the main stage on Sunday (August 2) at 2pm.
Lily Moore
If you’re after a more relaxed vibe. Lily Moore’s got you covered at 3pm on the Calling Out stage.
The soulful singer, who grew up in Brighton, has drawn comparisons to Amy Winehouse and Lianne Le Havas for her emotive vocals and relatable songwriting.
Though she hasn’t released a full album since her 2019 More Moore Mixtape, her latest EP, Grown Up Girl Regrets, continues to showcase her powerhouse voice and heartfelt lyricism.
Groove Armada
Legendary electronic music duo Groove Armada will be playing a DJ in the Parklands areas from 11:30pm to 1am on Sunday (August 2).
Formed in 1996 in London, Andy Cato and Tom Findlay have been all over the charts with hits such as At the River, I see you Baby and Superstylin.
The duo have released nine studio albums, six of which have charted in the UK Albums Chart top 50.
Get your dancing boots on for the final night because this pair will be sending you home in style with plenty of big dance anthems to get your boogie on to.
The duo have blended music styles – from reggae to metal, disco to hip-hop – with big choruses throughout their 12-year career.
Kendal Calling will be taking place from Thursday July 30 to Sunday August 2.
