A spa hotel in the Lake District has been named the best for families thanks to its dedicated family rooms and huge range of activities available.
The Telegraph has revealed the best spa hotels in the north of England, with the Armathwaite Hall being named the best for families.
Found close to Bassenthwaite Lake, the hotel and spa could be great for a family escape thanks to its many things to do, including exploring the surrounding parts of the Lake District.
The spa hotel also has multiple dining experiences to test out, meaning you don’t even need to leave the area during your stay if you want to relax completely.

On the spa hotel, The Telegraph said: "This grand-looking country house hotel, set in a former stately home at the head of Bassenthwaite, comes with spectacular views and a swathe of resort-style features.
"With its extensive grounds, outdoor activities and spa – plus the next-door Wildlife Park to which guests are granted discounted entry – there's no shortage of things to do.
"Along with an infinity pool, an outdoor hot tub with soothing garden views and a thermal suite, the spa features a tranquillity terrace and 10 treatment rooms.
"The surrounding woodland is a delight to wander through, with a direct path to the lakefront, or you can just admire the view from the terrace."
The hotel and spa is surrounded by 400 acres of deer park and woodland that you can enjoy while taking a walk around.
The hotel has family rooms available that have extra beds for children and interconnecting rooms.
For children, they can get close to a range of animals at the Lake District Wildlife Park next to the hotel or watch the bird of prey display where you can learn how to recall and hold the birds.
For those wanting to relax, there are plenty of spa treatments available from facials to holistic and wellness treatments.
The spa has both indoor and outdoor pools, including an infinity pool with "gorgeous" views of the landscape, as well as a gym, sauna, and a sun terrace with loungers.

"We had only been in winter before this stay so it was so nice to be able to sit outside in the sun, have a drink and enjoy the peace and lovely views.
"We had dinner in The Grill which is really nice and relaxing and the staff were so friendly, attentive and we really enjoyed their company.
"We were served by Giuru, Brandon and Vasi and I hope our thanks and gratitude are passed on to them for such great service."
