M6 warning issued to motorists ahead of Kendal Calling

MOTORISTS are being warned to expect delays on several key Cumbrian routes as Kendal Calling, a major music and arts festival, approaches.

Festival-goers will flock to Lowther Deer Park for Kendal Calling ahead of the 4pm opening on Thursday July 30.

On all other days between July 30 and August 2, the arena will be open from 10am.

During the festival, drivers are being warned to expect extra traffic on the motorway at Junction 40, on the A66 and on the A6.

Drivers will see traffic return to normal from August 2 onwards.

Live traffic notification service Inrix has issued the advance warning to drivers, ahead of Cumbria's biggest festival.

Biffy Clyro, Two Door Cinema Club; The Vaccines, Wolf Alice and Primal Scream are just some of the renowned bands set to perform on the main days between Friday and Sunday.

The Kooks will headline are more lowkey line-up on July 30 but a Thursday opening night ticket is required.
