A “picturesque” village in the Lake District is home to a famous bakery that sells “unbelievable” gingerbread.
If you are looking for somewhere to spend a day away from your busy life, you might want to visit the village of Grasmere.
The village can be found in the heart of the Lake District and could be a great place to stop off in between hikes.
Grasmere has a few attractions to see including Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum but there is a particular shop in the area that draws in huge crowds.
Why is Grasmere known for its gingerbread?
Sarah Nelon’s Grasmere Gingerbread Shop is one of the most popular spots to visit in Grasmere thanks to its “unbelievable” gingerbread.
The shop was recently visited by TikTokers Tay and Alex, who have been travelling around the area.
The pair bought an original gingerbread and a bag of bits, which is just chunks of the gingerbread.
When trying the gingerbread, Tay said it tasted “unbelievable”.
Alex said: “It tastes neutral at first, then it tastes alright.
“Then it tastes good, then it tastes very good, then it tastes unbelievable by the end.”
The couple noted how people were queuing out of the door to buy the sweet product.
The shop’s website says: “Our Lakeland spicy-sweet food sensation is enjoyed by King Charles and other world-famous celebrities.
“The ‘best gingerbread in the world’, the best cake in the world, the best biscuit in the world and the best food gift in Lakeland, this home-made heritage product is synonymous with efficient, personal and friendly service.”
