A "grand" Penrith hotel that counts a Michelin-star restaurant among its features has been named as one of the best luxury hotels in the Lake District.
Askham Hall featured alongside 10 others in a list from The Telegraph.
The publication shared that the region is seen as "a place for serious indulgence" alongside gorgeous views.
It added: "That sublime scenery can be enjoyed from an infinity pool, weary walking limbs can be cossetted in a private hot tub, breakfasts can be lingered over on a terrace, while soothing spa treatments can be administered while you soak up those views.
"And did we mention the food?"

Penrith hotel named among the Lake District's best
Askham Hall earned a 9/10 from The Telegraph to earn a place on the list.
It was described by the news outlet as a "grand Michelin-starred restaurant-with-rooms" that offers "authentic" country-house living.
The publication added: "As well as the site’s Michelin-starred restaurant Allium, the hotel is home to a vast drawing room and panelled ‘French’ room, a vaulted library with honesty bar and a self-operated sauna.
"Outside there’s a small, seasonal heated pool and, one of the qualities that sets this hotel apart, quintessentially English gardens with lawned terraces, colourful borders, vast topiary, a tangle of woodland and substantial kitchen garden."
Askham Hall shares that it is a great place to explore Ullswater and the Lake District, as well as relax in its "beautiful" but "lived-in" family home.
It has been very well received by visitors, earning a 4.7/5 from 224 reviews on Tripadvisor.
One guest wrote: "Magnificent old building, a treat to stay there.
"Our room was spacious, comfortable and atmospheric with a view over the lovely grounds and beyond and a good sized bathroom."
