SELLAFIELD Ltd has confirmed staff will receive bonus payments at just over 80% of the maximum available, following what the company described as a strong year of performance.
A spokesperson for the nuclear site said bonuses are linked to key targets and independently verified results.
They said: “Like many companies, both public and private, we incentivise performance through a bonus scheme.
“We calculate the bonus on the delivery of a broad range of key targets and project milestones. If all the targets are delivered at the top level, then the bonus would be 100%.
“Following independent verification of our performance, we’ve confirmed that bonus payments this year will be 80.47% of the total available.
“This reflects a great year of delivery at Sellafield, including record retrievals from the Pile Fuel Cladding Silo, the first treatment of plutonium residue for disposal, and one of our highest rates of high-level waste vitrification in recent years.
“This puts us in a good position to continue to deliver our nationally important mission safely, securely, and focused on getting the best value from everything we do.”
Sellafield, one of Cumbria’s largest employers, continues to play a key role in the UK’s nuclear clean-up programme.
