NORTH CUMBRIA'S NHS is currently the joint top-achieving trust in the UK for delivery of Whooping Cough vaccinations.
Latest data on vaccinations in North Cumbria shows an increase in maternal pertussis vaccination uptake of more than 100 per cent, compared to last year.
The trust's nurses delivered 1,563 vaccinations in the 2025/26 financial year to March, compared to 768 across the whole of 2024/25.
Thanks to the record-breaking increase in Whooping Cough vaccinations, NCIC is jointly the top-achieving trust.
In addition to the increase in Whooping Cough vaccinations, NCIC staff have also delivered a 45 per cent increase in maternal RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) vaccinations and achieved nearly 100 per cent patient satisfaction.
RSV vaccinations increased from 1026 in the 2024/25 financial year to 1493 in 2025/26.
Within patient satisfaction, the trust has received a five-star Friends and Family Test rating.
Nurses have also delivered an increase in maternal flu vaccinations but the exact data will be available at the end of April.
Interim Chief Executive Officer Trudie Davies shared the news with directors of the trust at their latest meeting on Wednesday March 25.
She said: "We are top of the country in whooping cough vaccination and just think of how good that is for children and young people in Cumbria."
Cumbria has consistently topped league tables for its vaccine delivery, data released by the UK Health Security Agency in August revealed that our county out-performed all other trusts in the country for delivery of the MMR vaccine and the four-in-one booster.

More than 94 per cent of five year-olds received the MMR vaccine and four-in-one-booster in the 2024/25 financial year, while 95.6 per cent received the six-in-one vaccine.
The MMR vaccine protects against Measles, Mumps and Rubella while the four-in-one booster guards against Polio, Whooping Cough, Tetanus and Diphtheria.
NCIC has also welcomed positive performance data in both its Urgent and Emergency Care and Unplanned Care recently.
Data reported to board in March revealed that 8.2 per cent of patients were waiting 12 hours for treatment at Accident and Emergency Departments, this was a reduction on the 12.6 per cent seen in November.
NCIC has improved its national ranking relating to 12 hour waits to 47 out of 118 NHS trusts.
