THE owner of a skateboarding store in Carlisle has said that he is 'blown away' after marking Skate Shop Day 2026.
Skate Shop Day 2026 was celebrated by skateboarding stores across the globe on Saturday, February 21.
The initiative, which was born in 2020 in the USA, is a day where the skateboarding community celebrates is 'cultural hubs, the foundations of every skate scene, the places that bring skaters together and act as the glue for skateboarding as a whole'.
The day is supported by a number of global brands such as Vans, Etnies, Skullcandy, and Deluxe Distribution.
In Carlisle, Ten and Fower, which is owned by skater Harry Palmer and based on Rosemary Lane, also celebrated Skate Shop Day 2026.
After celebrating Skate Shop Day, Harry said he was 'blown away' by the support his shop received.
He said: "I just want to say thank you so much from the bottom of my heart! I did record as much as I wanted because I was too busy.
I’m blown away by your love and support for my tiny little shop here in Carlisle. Skateboarding is truly alive and well in Cumbria in 2026.
"Thank you to everyone who came in and bought something or just came and showed their love."
