A Cumbrian organisation is inviting people to join its community events focused on friendship and connection.
Cumbria Oddfellows, part of the national Oddfellows friendly society, offers regular social activities in Carlisle, Wigton, Penrith and Kendal.
Events include coffee mornings, walks, lunches and games afternoons.
Samantha Richardson, social organiser at Cumbria Oddfellows, said: "Home is a feeling, and for many of our members, Cumbria Oddfellows has become a real home away from home.
"It’s about knowing there’s a friendly face waiting for you, a place where you can be yourself and feel comfortable from the moment you walk through the door."
The group, which has around 350 members, aims to help people find a sense of belonging.
Ms Richardson said that having access to a regular social group can be particularly valuable at different stages of life.
She said: "Having a reliable group to belong to brings reassurance, routine and connection.
"It’s not just about socialising – it’s about feeling supported and part of something local."
Recent and upcoming events include a coffee morning at 11am on February 9 at Cornerstones Café in Denton Holme.
A talk by the Cumbria Search and Rescue Team will also take place at 7pm on Thursday, February 5 at Cumwhinton Village Hall.
Ms Richardson said: "There’s no pressure with our group at all.
"You can take part as much or as little as you like – just turn up as you are.
"Many people tell us they wish they’d discovered us sooner."
Membership with Cumbria Oddfellows offers additional benefits such as care and welfare support, access to a travel club, and volunteering opportunities.
The wider Oddfellows organisation also runs around 60 free online events each month, including a monthly virtual open day where people can learn more about its friendship groups.
