A NEW trading card store that specialises in Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering is set to open in Carlisle.
AJ TCG trading card store will open its new store on Carlisle's Earl Street on Monday, February 2.
This new Carlisle shop will be AJ TCG's first store outside of Preston.
At the store, trading card fans can expect to find all things Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, and AJ TCG have confirmed to the News & Star that, subject to interest, it could also accommodate other trading card games and even Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) groups.
Jason Howarth is the manager of the AJ TCG trading card store in Preston and expressed his excitement ahead of the opening of the new location in Carlisle.
He said: "We have done really well in Preston giving the players a space where they fell comfortable and somewhere that is easily accessible.
"That is what we want to do in Carlisle. We know there is another store in the city but we want to give people options.
"We're all about giving to the community, and giving them access to stock.
"We specialise in Pokémon, but it is not the only thing we do. At our Preston store we do Pokémon, One Piece, Magic, we have D&D groups that come in and that is what we are going to do in Carlisle.
"But if there is is demand for other card games and we can get it, we will do it."
Ahead of the store's opening, Jason encouraged anyone interested in becoming part of the AJ TCG community to check out the new Carlisle location.
He said: "We are for the community and that is what we are going to try and build in Carlisle.
"To anyone interested in coming down, I would say come and see us, give it a shot, what have you got to lose? If you like Pokémon or Magic then you will find a lot of like-minded people."
