Walking club collects 40 bags of rubbish during litter pick

33 volunteers from the Carlisle Ramblers & Fellwalking Club took part in their first-ever litter pick.

The litter pick covered The Swifts, Stonyholme, and The Sheepmount and saw the group collected 40 bags of rubbish.

A Cumberland Council spokesperson: "Huge shoutout to the Carlisle Ramblers & Fellwalking Club for their first-ever community litter pick

"Covering The Swifts, Stonyholme, and The Sheepmount, the task turned out to be bigger than expected, but with 33 volunteers, they smashed it.

"A massive 40 bags of litter were collected. Well done to all the litter champions making a real difference."
