CARLISLE Golf Club has announced that it raised nearly £13,000 for a Cumbrian mountain rescue team during 2025.
Carlisle Golf Club announced on Tuesday, January 20 that it had raised £12,626 for the Penrith Mountain Rescue Team throughout 2025.
The mountain rescue team was selected by the golf club's men's captain Martin Hilton and ladies' captain Joan Britland.
The club was able to raise the 'amazing' sum by hosting a number of events during 2025, which included charity days, raffles, coffee mornings, and quizzes.
Writing on social media, Carlisle Golf Club said: "We are incredibly proud to celebrate the fantastic achievement of our Captain’s Charity, which has raised an amazing £12,626.40 this season for Penrith Mountain Rescue
"This brilliant total has been made possible through a whole range of charity days, raffles, coffee mornings and quizzes held throughout the year, all supported so generously by our members and guests.
"A huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated, organised events or simply showed their support.
"Your generosity will make a real difference and is a wonderful reflection of the spirit of our club."
