A 'LARGE' commercial office building in Cumbria, opened by the king, has sold at auction for just shy of a quarter of a million pounds.

The 'freehold' and 'detached' Windermere House on Peart Road, Derwent Howe Industrial Estate, Workington, sold at auction with Auction House Cumbria for £220,000.

Formally owned by Moss Bay Enterprise Trust LTD, the building was opened by His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales - now King Charles III - in 1985.

It comprises numerous offices, featuring seven rooms on the ground floor and ten on the first floor.
