RESIDENTS, business owners and organisations in Cumberland are being encouraged to have their say on economic growth in the area, before the consultation closes tomorrow.

A consultation opened on September 26, asking the community for their views on the council's strategic objectives for economic growth.

The strategic framework is one aspect of an Economic and Inclusive Growth Strategy which is in-development at the council.

Members of the community are asked to comment on the strategic objectives to inform the development of the overall strategy.

However, anyone interested in taking-part must be quick as the consultation ends on Friday October 17.

The strategic framework will inform the council's decisions around economic growth for the next 10 years and is broken down into three key headings: people, place and prosperity,

Actions include "enabling economic and social inclusion" and "unlocking strategic employment sites."

Cumberland Council's strategic framework also includes "harnessing the natural environment as a driver for sustainable growth" and ensuring the area has enough quality housing to meet residents' needs.

Anyone interested in taking part can fill out an online survey here.
