An in-person public consultation event regarding a proposed new school building will take place this month.
Members of the public will have a chance to make their views known on he proposal for Appleby Grammar School on July 16, at the school, between 2.40pm and 6pm.
The proposal seeks to demolish all buildings on-site except the original 1997 school building, the 1927 science building and the sports hall.
The retains buildings are to be refurbished and onnected by a new linked walkway and block which will accommodate office/meeting rooms and a medical/first-aid space.
A new standalone three-storey teaching block to the immediate west of the original school building is also proposed.
The plan is to increase the proportion of admin spaces, including offices, medical treatment rooms, a library, and seminar rooms.
The new teaching block is planned to have a dining room and food prep area, DT rooms, food rooms, art rooms, an assembly hall, activity studio, changing rooms, classrooms a science lab, staff workrooms, and toilets.
The public consultation period began on July 9 and will continue until July 23.
During this time, people can submit feedback online at https://dpp1.co.uk/appleby/ to view the proposals and submit any feedback.
